HEALTH EDUCATOR - WORKPLACE

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of health education and prevention services for employees and dependents company-wide. The position has primary responsibility for ensuring that the planning and implementation of prevention services projects meet the highest quality standards as set by the Health and Safety Services Department. The position also assists in program evaluation and outcomes reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of the comprehensive Self-Care initiative to serve all full-time employees and their families.
  • Develop and coordinate health education and prevention services programming company-wide.
  • Assess effectiveness of current health education programs and enhance delivery methods for each program.
  • Integrate current health promotion, disease management, medical, safety and fitness initiatives into all Self-Care program components and implement communication and promotion plan for all services.
  • Implement Self-Care program evaluation process, working with program vendor to ensure consistency in delivery and reporting.
  • Develop and administer health education/disease management programs targeted toward individuals with health risks; develop compliance standards and report program outcomes.
  • Coordinate the collection of prevention services program data and prepare spreadsheet reports for transfer to cost analysis vendor.
  • Assist with design of management reports and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of all data collected during health promotion and prevention services.
  • Coordinate and provide counseling services for specific disease management programs.
  • Provide class instruction as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Minimum four-year degree in Health Education or another health-related field with at least 5-7 years experience in applicable field

Experience and technical knowledge in areas of program design, behavior modification, program delivery, and evaluation

Excellent organization and oral and written communication skills

Computer experience – Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs

Preferred:

Masters degree in health-related field
Skill in database reporting

Certification Preferred:

CHES preferred.
