COVID-19 Update for CHES® and MCHES® Candidates
NCHEC remains dedicated to providing exam candidates with frequent updates on the status of the current exam cycle in conjunction with our testing partner, Prometric.
While Prometric has resumed in-center testing, as well as live remote proctoring options for both the CHES® and MCHES® examinations, we still face significant challenges due to the impact of both state and national COVID-19 requirements and guidelines for social distancing. This means that there may be a limited number of sites and test appointments available as permitted by local governments, and that they will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
We urge you to use Prometric’s scheduling tool at www.prometric.org/nchec if you are a candidate for the October exam, to begin exam scheduling process. New appointment hours are added frequently, so it is recommended that you check back if you cannot find an exam appointment during your initial search.
Please keep in mind:
New test site openings can be monitored here: https://bit.ly/3cSpp8l. Sites that have been closed due to unforseen circustames or COVID restrictions can be viewed here as well.
Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) is available for the CHES®/MCHES® exam if you are unable to locate a test site appointment, or prefer to test from your home.
If you select LRP as your testing choice, please make sure to complete the systems check in advance, as well as read all materials regarding the LRP process.
We encourage candidates not to delay testing, as a competent, certified health education workforce is more essential than ever before.
If you experience difficulty in the scheduling process, please contact Tanya Cole at email@example.com. We are here to help you.
Realize that restrictions regarding the COVID-19 public health crisis may continue to impact test center availability in the coming months. Both NCHEC and Prometric will make every effort to communicate with you promptly regarding your examination. We truly appreciate your patience during these uncertain times. Never hesitate to reach out to us with your questions and concerns!
