NCHEC Can Help You Hire a CHES® and/or MCHES®

To assist in your search for CHES® and/or MCHES® applicants, NCHEC will post job announcements on the Web site free of charge.

Post a job.  The only REQUIREMENT: description must indicate that a CHES® and/or MCHES® is preferred or required.

Position Summary/Position

Under the direction of the Manager of Health Education, the Health Educator I is responsible for the overall success of a Health Education Program from development and implementation to marketing, outreach, reconciliation of incentives/inventory, and evaluation of IEHP Member Health Education Programs and services. The Health Educator I must ensure that the materials meet current clinical content, reading level, and cultural context are appropriate for populations served. In addition, the Health Educator I must evaluate population-specific health education programs to demonstrate efficacy and strategic alignment to IEHP goals.

Experience Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of experience in health education, program planning, evaluation, and policy development. Experience in writing reports, creating low-literacy education materials, and in developing health education programs for patients or the community.

Education Qualifications

Master’s degree required in Public Health, in Health Education, Health Promotion or in a related field equivalent to public health from an accredited institution required.

Professional Certification

Attainment of Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) status is preferred. 

A reasonable salary expectation is between $70,012.80 and $89,273.60, based upon experience and internal equity.
