NCHEC’s 30th Anniversary Celebration at SOPHE 2019 Salt Lake City - a Photo Journey

The SOPHE Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City this March 26th – 29th was a resoundingly positive event, attended by hundreds of CHES® and MCHES® from across the country. The theme of the conference was “Elevating Health Through the Power of Many,” and provided some amazing professional development opportunities for Health Education Specialists.

Four NCHEC staff members, including Executive Director Linda Lysoby, attended the conference, along with several past and present Commissioners and Division Board Directors. The NCHEC exhibit booth was a busy place for both new introductions and reconnecting with friends and colleagues! Browse below to view a photo journey of this fantastic conference!

CHES® MCHES® Professional Video

A team of talented videographers from Speak Creative were on hand to film a new professional video featuring a montage of some of our best and brightest practitioners discussing how they have made an impact in their communities or in the lives of the individuals they serve.  Look for its release in early May 2019 on NCHEC’s YouTube Channel and other social media outlets!

CHES® / MCHES® Appreciation Breakfast

Our annual breakfast event was a resounding success with over 225 certified individuals present. The celebration of the 30 years of history behind our credentialing organization was a highlight of this breakfast. The founding, or “Charter CHES” were recognized, as well as those who had maintained their certification for over 20, 10, and 5 years – as well as the newly certified professionals who had recently joined the ranks of CHES® and MCHES® across the nation. We all enjoyed great company, delicious food, and fun trivia about NCHEC and the history of our credential.

2019 Distinguished Fellow Award

We are so excited to announce that our Executive Director, Linda Lysoby, received the 2019 Distinguished Fellow Award at SOPHE this year. This award is the highest form of recognition that a SOPHE member can receive, and was instituted to recognize individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the profession of Health Education and Promotion.  We followed the award ceremony with a celebratory in Salt Lake City’s famous Temple Square. Congratulations, Linda!
